Inadvertent Matchmaker

Mr. Young was head of the Social Work Dept at Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital when I got a summer job there in 1979.  I remember him describing all the various units, as he  tried to figure out where to place me.  I was too intimidated to be of much help. Finally, I said that Continuing Care   ( a long-term care program) sounded interesting.

He placed me under the good care of Karen Northway (later GIlbert).  Soon after, I met Bob Tkaczyk,  Head Nurse of the men's ward (2D).  We fell in love that summer and were engaged by Christmas.

I met Mr. Young and his wife years later while we were out for an anniversary dinner.  If I am not mistaken, their aniverary was quite near to ours.  Who would have thought ?

So -  thanks Mr Young, for being the inadvertent matchmaker !
