Obituary for Mr. Daniel "Dano" Kelly

Daniel Kelly (Dano)
September 6, 1955- June 13, 2022

With profound sadness, we announce Dan's passing. Dan may not have been in great health most of
his life, but his will to live for his family allowed him to recover from many life-threatening illnesses.
Dan loved his family so much that he always said, "If I have to go through this pain and suffering, so my
family does not, I will bear the pain."

Dan would sit with anyone, any time to listen, give advice, or just "shoot the breeze". Dan cared about
people, and he loved to make them laugh. Guess you would call him a "social butterfly".

Dan is survived by his best friend, his wife of 31 years, Gail. His two boys who made him so proud
Casey (Rylie Basaraba) and Garrett (Brooke Burgsteden). Sister-in-law Eileen Tulin (Vancouver),
Brother-in-law Ed, and Llisa Tulin. Nieces Miranda Miller (Colbie, Calvin, and Claire), Diana
and Jesse Thorogood (Vancouver).

Dan was born into a large, loving family. Dan leaves behind his parents Gay and Larry (his hero) Kelly.
Sister Joanne Wehrstedt (Glen), nephews Paul and Michael Wehrstedt. Sister Susan Bortuzzo (Oscar),
nephew Robert Bortuzzo (Megan), niece Kathleen Baird (Ryan). Sister Colleen Muhl (Otto). Nieces
Dana St. Lawrence (Steven), Katie St. Lawrence, and Kelly Johnston (Clay). Brother John Kelly (Helen).
Niece April Kelly and nephew Jordan Kelly. Brother Larry Kelly (Christy), nephews Josh, Zach, Ben
and Carter Kelly. Dan is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many
life long friends.

Dan was predeceased by his in-laws, Edwin and Helena Tulin, who were very special to him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Da Vinci Centre on June 22, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to Dew Drop Inn Charity.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
