Obituary for Mr. George Taylor Igo

George Taylor Igo, age 73 years, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, October 11, 2012 in St. Joseph's Hospice.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn and their son Weston (Adrienne) in Thunder Bay; his son Stephen (Cheryl); daughter Wendy and sister Nadine all in Oregon.

George was born in Idaho and spent his younger years working on farms and in the family wrecking yard until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1956, stationed mainly in Brunswick, Georgia where he was assigned to airship dirigibles patrolling the east coast. George moved west to Colorado, and then California where he enjoyed scuba diving and fishing on his boat at Catalina with his children. He moved to Thunder Bay in 1973 and worked in the sheet metal trade and later at Lakehead University in mechanical maintenance. George was a jack of all trades and could always figure out how to fix or build almost anything. He built their family homes and his 52 Chevy pickup and car. He loved to go fishing and had an amazing sense of humour and quick wit. He will leave a hole in our hearts but a smile on our faces when we reminisce.

In compliance with George's wishes there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma in care of arrangements. If friends so desire, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
